Roots of Athens County
Roots of Athens County is a community art project that weaves the oral histories of three Athens County Elders: Cecil Tabler, Charlie Bond, and Geraldine “Tootsie” Tabler, into a short documenatry. Athens, Ohio Folk Artists Talcon Quinn worked in collaboration with Bent Street Films and Dusty Jenkins to awaken memories through the traditional art form of basketry and encapsulate these memories into the modern medium of film.

Black Wall Street Athens County
Black Wall Street Athens County - developed in association with Bent Street Films and Hyfocal Multimedia focuses on the incredible triumphs of Black business owners in Athens County in the late 1880’s and early 1900’s. The series chronicles the destruction of Athens Black Historical structures and depicts community efforts to halt the erasure of its last standing cultural icon.
Blake Art
Adrian Blake is a visual artist hailing from Portmore City, Jamaica. A basketball scholarship brought him to the U.S. specifically to Athens, Ohio. In this mini-documentary, we discover his passion beyond the court. Blake Art is produced by Bent Street Films.
I'm on a Cleanse
“I'm on a Cleanse” examines the contemporary ideology of “personal balance,” and questions whether our efforts to control and curate our lifestyles are actually improving our lives. It is Claire Autran's debut writing and directing for the screen. The film placed second at the AT&T Create-A-Thon in NYC and won the award for "Best Emerging Story Teller" at The Imagine This Women's International Film Festival: Girl Power Film + Media Summit Showcase in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Invictus
Ruqayyah Boyer - the former Miss Guyana Universe - came to us to create this as a talent piece. "Invictus" is a short poem by the English poet William Ernest Henley (1849-1903). It was written in 1875 and first published in 1888. Nelson Mandela had the poem written on a scrap of paper on his prison cell while he was incarcerated while he was battling his illness. The Method Behind the Madness
Midnight Madness is part of the practical-based portion of the MFA playwriting program at Ohio University. Consisting of the weekly, informal production of new work, each writer must write a three to five-minute play based on the week's prompt. Produced by Bent Street Films.
